More than just a DJ to the dark, all-night allure of the dance floor, Ravell is a catalyst — both in his sound and his story. Early on Los Angeles-based Ravell harnessed a delicate balance between the metallic grit of tech house and the hypnotic, breathy rhythms of deep house. This is what gives him the one-of-a-kind sound that propelled his career forward at an exponential rate. Within a few years Ravell went from a house party DJ to a full-fledged producer, commanding both the attention and guidance of one of this generation’s most iconic electronic artists, Kaskade.

But before Kaskade, there was his father. At age 12, Ravell, born Richard Garcia, was first encouraged by his family to pursue his love of music. His father introduced him to the art of DJing, and soon thereafter it became a passion of his own. Quickly finding his footing at house parties in his hometown of Fontana, he rapidly graduated from sets at Gotham City to Matinee to Dance in Southern California and watched as his audiences grew from just hundreds in his parents’ backyard to thousands per week in premiere nightclubs. After impressing Kaskade, Ravell was awarded the coveted role of opening for the icon’s Freaks of Nature tour, which featured over 40 stops throughout North America in 2012. In 2013 he again joined Kaskade, this time for the Atmosphere tour, which landed in some of the most iconic arenas in the nation. Never one to pause in his goal to conquer monumental feats year after year, 2014 also saw Ravell’s debut at Coachella Music Festival’s Sahara Tent where he received a remarkable reception by fans and artists alike. While the magnitude of his venues and audiences progress, what has always remained is the heart behind Ravell’s music. His ear comes naturally, but expanding beyond his own backyard DJ sessions allowed him to discover another pivotal inspiration – performing. Touring the world allowed Ravell to experience firsthand the lasting ability of his sound. Ravell was instantly hooked as he watched his own music become the soundtrack to his audience’s nights, illuminating an unshakably positive energy throughout the dance floor. Supported by his family and inspired by his insatiable passion for music and performing, Ravell successfully made his mark as one of electronic music’s most promising talents. With a plethora of impressive achievements already under his belt, Ravell is now ready to showcase his capabilities not only as a performer, but also as a producer.

Ravell kicked off 2016 by remixing “Louder, Harder, Better” by Galantis and went on to open the San Francisco & Los Angeles stops of their sold out tour. With his debut single “Do It Now” set to be released on Kaskade’s Arkade label on March 21st, the year is already looking like a landmark one for the young producer. With the perfect balance of dynamic skill and blazing drive, 2016 is shaping up to be Ravell’s biggest year yet. Stay tuned for more from Ravell, as this is just the beginning.
